Alfa's 2023 Charity Partnerships
We have teamed up with some wonderful and deserving charity partners for 2023 and beyond - and we’re excited to give our support to them in many ways over the coming months!
The charity selection process is always democratic at Alfa. Colleagues or Communities nominate good causes aligned with our chosen UN Sustainable Development Goals. We then carry out our research and often get charity representatives to come and run an informative social talk before voting on our regional favorites.
Towards the end of 2022 we kicked off the latest round of new charity nominations and received more than ever, having recently introduced five new United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to focus our ESG efforts on at Alfa. ESG is part of everyday life at Alfa and we are proud that our colleagues engage so much in the issues we are trying to positively impact as a collective.
Alfa’s EMEA operation will be supporting The Food Foundation
The Food Foundation’s mission is to change food policy and business practice to ensure everyone in the UK can afford and access a healthy and sustainable diet.
The Food Foundation uses surprising and inventive ideas to catalyze and deliver fundamental change in the food system by building and synthesizing strong evidence, shaping powerful coalitions, harnessing citizens’ voices, and driving progress with impactful communications.
Alfa’s team in Australia will raise funds for Beyond Zero Emissions
Beyond Zero Emissions is an internationally recognized think tank. They conduct and publish research on solutions that unlock economic potential for industries, regions, and communities.
They also showcase real-world projects as opportunities to demonstrate how Australia can prosper in a zero-emissions economy and they supercharge their work through a network of volunteers.
In New Zealand, our 2023 charity partner is KidsCan
Many Kiwi kids will arrive in class too hungry to focus - if they make it to school at all. KidsCan donations provide children in need with food and other basics so they can learn and thrive. Not just today, but every day. For those now hit by flooding, life is even harder. Families who were already struggling have lost everything, adding a layer of misery they just did not need.
KidCan is doing its best to ensure more kids in need are fed, clothed, and settled so they can learn.
Alfa US supports a mental health charity
Our chosen organization in the US is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide advocacy, education, support, and public awareness to individuals who suffer from mental illness and those adjacent to them.
It is one of the largest organizations that focuses on providing resources for those affected by mental health problems.
We fundraise in many ways for our chosen charities. We hold events to engage our colleagues, raise awareness and creatively add value to the charities’ operations; we work in partnership with them to identify volunteering opportunities that we can help with; and we also donate for each response from Alfa’s 400+ strong workforce that we receive when we issue our quarterly employee engagement ‘Pulse’ survey.
Our ESG activities extend well beyond our chosen charities - with colleagues empowered to volunteer for any cause close to their hearts and undertake lots of different fundraising initiatives - but our chosen charities in each region keep us focused on channeling our efforts to make the biggest difference we can, and keep us aligned with our United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
We look forward to a year full of enriching experiences working in partnership with our chosen charities around the world, and hope we raise significant and important funds for them along the way.
